I believe in ideas.
Everybody knows Google Street View: you drag the orange icon onto a google map and instantly get to see what the area looks like from the perspective of one of Googles cars. But the most beautiful vistas of the world are from the sea and that's where Google Street View Cars can't go. We thought that was a perfect opportunity to promote Costa Cruise Ships.
We proposed installing Google Street View cameras on the bows of 31 cruise ships. Be it Hawaii, Miami or the middle of the Atlantic Ocean - suddenly you could see all those places from the perspective of a Costa Cruise Ship.
Street View uses 360° Cameras, so by scrolling around each user would eventually get to see the front of our various Cruise Ships. That's where we would print a short URL. If they typed that into a browser they'd get a great deal for that very same ship.
It's a super-secret easter egg enabling users to discover the world with Costa Cruises.
When Costa launched their latest cruise ship, they asked us for a promotion that would get a lot of attention from facebook users. We proposed a website with an elevated view of the ramp the ship would slide down. Users could place virtual buoys in the water where they guessed the bow would come to a halt. Whoever was closest would win an all-inclusive trip around the world.
